Gujarat Law Society was established in 1927. It was founded by the stalwarts like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Shri Ganesh Mavlankar and Shri kasturbhai Lalbhai. Gujarat Law Society has been imparting education in various disciplines like law, arts, commerce, home science, management studies and computer application.
Smt. L&C Mehta Arts College run by the Gujarat Law Society is 50 year old educational institution. Since 1953, the institution has carved out a niche for itself in the faculty of arts imparting quality education. The institution has received University Grant of Rs. 7 lakh as part of One time grant for Best Reputed Old College. Many of our alumni include well-known judges, poets, writers, artists, politicians and IAS officers.
It is a co-educational institution with about 1200 students on its roll. It caters to the needs of students who intend to specialise in language and social sciences.
